Kim Markel

Kim (she/her) believes that it is impossible to thrive and heal in isolation, and that with connection and hope loneliness can cease to exist and and wellbeing can be nurtured.

In her role as the Executive Director, Kim works with an amazing team of staff, participants, and community partners to provide strategic leadership and advance all operational aspects of the organization. Kim holds a Masters in Advanced Practice Leadership of Nursing from the University of Victoria, and brings over two decades of clinical and leadership experience in housing, harm reduction, and health services to her role. Her passion for hope, equity, and the dismantling of systemic barriers inform both her leadership style and relationships in community.

Kim is a daughter, dog mom, aunt, sister, partner, and friend. When not at work, you will find Kim in her garden, hiking with her dogs, or travelling.

We live and work on the homelands and territories of the Tla’amin People. We honour the land, the Tla’amin People, and their treaty and continually seek to strengthen our relationship and responsibilities to them as guests in the territory.
