Our Services

BOND Program

Babies Open New Doors (BOND) is a federal program to support pregnant people and new parents to make positive nutritional and lifestyle choices for their new baby.

Our program offers ongoing support during pregnancy, and for 6 months after the birth of your baby.

We provide:

  • Food security resources, including food vouchers, free vitamins, and an emergency food shelf
  • Information on pregnancy, delivery, and newborn care
  • Referrals to other community programs and services
  • Individual nutritional counselling as required
  • Groups and workshops for expectant and new parents

Our supports are free of cost.

Referrals can be made by your doctor/midwife, a public health nurse or by self-referral.

Our supports include group meetings with other parents, and one-on-one support from outreach workers, dieticians, support workers, and more. We work with a wide range of service providers and are here to help connect you with the resources you need.

We can help you:

  • Plan what and how much to eat while you are pregnant
  • Make healthy food choices within your budget
  • Meal-plan and cook healthy and cost-friendly recipes
  • Understand how cigarettes, alcohol and other substances affect your baby
  • Support to breastfeed your baby
  • Answer questions
  • Adjust to your new baby
  • Provide a safe and supportive space to meet other pregnant and new parents
