Launched across B.C. in 2020, the Healthy Care Pregnancy Program is a provincial program intended to support pregnant people and new parents who have used or currently use substances.
We help pregnant people navigate through primary care (doctor or midwife), community care, and acute hospital settings while accessing treatment and/or recovery services.
The program supports pregnant, post-partum (up to 7 months), and newly parenting individuals who have a history of substance use at ANY point in their lives, or are currently using (alcohol, drugs and cannabis). Support is also provided if there is a pregnancy loss, abortion or adoption.
The Healthy Care Pregnancy Program aims to maintain parent and baby togetherness, support holistic wellness, address chronic health issues and needs for both the parent and the infant, build confidence and self-efficacy, and identify pressure points in the system of care for intervention and support.
Our staff offer safe and confidential person-centred support with a focus on harm reduction. No personal information is ever shared without your consent.
