Today our board of directors announced the resignation of our Executive Director, Stuart Clark. Stu is leaving his role after six years with Lift Community Services to pursue new endeavours.
“After six extraordinary years, we are sad to see Stuart go,” our board chair Maggie Hathaway shares. “He has led this organization through incredible growth, whilst facing previously unheard-of obstacles, and continues to champion Lift’s work in the community today. We are grateful for Stuart’s leadership and we wish him the very best in his next venture.”
Stu joined Lift as the ED in September 2017. Under his leadership we’ve rebranded (from Powell River Employment Program, or PREP, Society), launched qathet Region’s only supportive housing building, provided immediate housing, food and harm reduction supports to community members through the COVID-19 pandemic, took on the administrative and operational lead for the qathet Community Action Team, worked with provincial and local partners to bring Complex Care Housing services to the community, and more.
Our board has struck a selection committee to select a new Executive Director and will be posting a job posting next week. Stu’s last day will be April 2nd.
