Staff Profile: Meet Coco

Coco is our Outreach Worker at the Immigrant Welcome Centre. Learn more about Coco’s role and what she gets out of working for Lift!

What’s your role at Lift?
I’m a frontline worker at the Immigrant Welcome Centre.

What does that look like day-to-day?
I help clients to access many different services such as filling out and understanding documents & applications, arranging community connections, and getting information about settling in our community.

What do you get out of working at Lift?
I love to see how I can help to make a difference in other people’s lives. I believe having a positive impact on someone else could help change my own outlook and attitude.

I also love to be inspired by my clients and volunteers. It is a blessing to see how people help each other to overcome difficulties.

What do you want the community to know about the people at Lift?
LIFT staff work towards a cause they believe in  helping other! We care about people and consider individual and community wellbeing. We believe that we must be aware of and responsive to the needs of everyone in the community we serve.

We live and work on the homelands and territories of the Tla’amin People. We honour the land, the Tla’amin People, and their treaty and continually seek to strengthen our relationship and responsibilities to them as guests in the territory.
