We are so proud to support the work of the Community Action Team – a group of over 80 individuals and community groups working to address the toxic drug crisis in qathet Region.
The Community Action Team (CAT) has worked to bring a number of harm reduction initiatives to our community including the Overdose Prevention Site, mass spectrometer drug testing, peer support networking, a research project on rural substance use in partnership with the BC Centre of Substance Use, and much more.
As administrative lead for the Community Action Team, our Community Development Manager, Kathryn, coordinates CAT meetings, and Lift provides administrative and staffing support for some of the initiatives brought forward by the group.
Today, on Overdose Awareness Day, we are thrilled to share the CAT’s new harm reduction video, featuring some of its members sharing information, as well as their own experience and expertise, for a better understanding of harm reduction in community.
Substance use and harm reduction are community issues that require community response. Let’s work together to keep people alive.
