Hours:
Our tutoring program runs September – June, and we offer by-appointment literacy support at your convenience.

Drop-in literacy support is available at the Powell River Public Library most Tuesdays from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm.

One-on-one tutoring can take place in a variety of community settings, at a time that works for both the participant and the tutor.

We also offer in-community support as requested and available. Please get in touch to learn more about how we can support your group or program.

Our office is located at the Dr. Elsie Paul Literacy Centre in the Powell River Public Library, at 6975 Alberni Street.

We’re always looking for volunteer tutors to help us meet the needs for literacy support in our community.

We provide training and supports to volunteers in the program. Learner needs can vary from learning how to access a computer to learning a new hobby so usually everybody has something to share!. Our volunteers usually meet with a learner between 1-3 hours/week.

• Providing resources for families with low literacy skills
• Providing resources for people with low incomes
• Providing resources for community literacy events
