List of Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to perform active/physical work for up to 8 hours and be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Practical experience in manual labour such as groundskeeping, gardening, farming or related work.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team with professional communication skills.
  • Passionate about outdoor recreation and parks systems.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in the workplace.
  • Ability to record pertinent information and write reports.
  • Enjoy outdoor work and patrolling campgrounds at night.
  • Your communication and public relation skills are excellent and include conflict resolution.
  • You are proactive and adept at policy enforcement in a friendly manner.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in the workplace with great time management skills.
  • Passionate about outdoor recreation and parks systems.
  • Able to perform physical activity for an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to record pertinent information and to write reports.
  • The positions are seasonal, for the duration of the operational dates May to September.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Drivers Abstract required up hiring)
  • Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector required upon hiring)
  • Current First Aid Certification (OFA) – an asset
  • Provide your own transportation to and from work.

List of Duties

  • Reporting to the Park Manager, the Park Attendants are responsible for ensuring park visitors have a memorable park experience and that our parks are kept safe and clean!
  • Duties include welcoming visitors, providing information to guests, cleaning campsites, cleaning washrooms and pit toilets, removing garbage and recycling, landscape cleanup and maintenance, and collecting fees.

  • Seasonal employment starts in March and can continue until late October. Our main busy season is from the May long weekend until Labour Day weekend.
  • Full and part – time work is offered. Full – time work is 35 to 40 hours per week.
  • Wages range from $18 to $24 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
  • Uniform supplied.
