List of Requirements
- Position is for casual relief home support worker for an adult female in a wheelchair who prefers female support workers.
- Experience in personal care for individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
- All employees must pass a Criminal Record Check for vulnerable sector.
- All employees must sign a confidentiality agreement.
- All employees are required to wear a face mask at all times.
- All employees must have a valid driver’s license and be able to independently transport to client’s home.
- Physical strength and height are important considerations.
- Experience with overhead lifts is an asset.
List of Duties
- Work in a quiet home environment on a casual/relief basis with a client who is verbal and engaging.
- Worker will be asked to cover morning and/or evening shifts when other staff are sick or unavailable.
- The morning shifts are two hours from 9AM-11AM M-F and one hour on weekends 10AM Saturday and Sunday.
- Morning shifts involve dressing the client, personal toileting care, positioning in wheelchair, and preparing breakfast.
- ALL SHIFTS ARE CASUAL RELIEF WORK, EXCEPT THE SAT 10AM SHIFT (this can be a permanent shift if you are interested).
- The evening shifts are as follows: Sun-Th: 9pm to 11pm (subject to slight variation), F-Sat and holidays: 9:30pm to 11:30pm (subject to slight variation)
