List of Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter well-versed in BC building codes
  • Proficiency in various carpentry skills including foundations, framing, finishing and envelope
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating processes and techniques
  • Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills to effectively manage a team
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Commitment to safety practices on the job site

List of Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and other construction workers on-site
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes throughout all phases of construction
  • Oversee the installation of structures and fixtures, including cabinets, siding, tiles, and other carpentry-related tasks
  • Conduct construction estimating for project planning and budgeting purposes
  • Provide hands-on support when necessary, including caulking, concrete forming, and construction painting
  • Train and mentor team members in carpentry techniques and best practices
  • Manage project timelines to ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining quality standards
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to facilitate smooth workflow across different aspects of construction projects
  • Communicate consistently with Project Manager regarding project, crew & planning
  • Work with the Project Manager regarding budget management
  • Collaborate with OHS Coordinator and train workers on safety regulations
