Family Place Field Trip to the Blueberry Commons

Earlier this week our Family Place program took a field trip to the Blueberry Commons farm!

We had 19 families (53 people in total!) come out for the u-pick. Farmer Ron was such a pleasure to meet and was patient and kind to the kids. We had a tour of the farm and then got to work! For some families it was an entirely new and exciting experience to get to harvest their own food and oh boy was there an abundance of beautiful and tasty produce.

It was an absolute treasure to watch the kids play tag in and out of the corn and long grass. Seeing them smile and enjoy fresh air, fresh food and close family time was beautiful to watch.

We’re already planning another trip to the Commons in the fall for the pumpkin patch!
